Events have been organised by the Parish Council on Thursday 8 May to bring our community together in the village hall, to remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice to give us all the freedoms that we enjoy today. We also take the opportunity to thank those who returned home to a country needing to build itself again after 6 years of war.

The village hall and licensed bar will be open throughout the evening so you can sit and enjoy your meal, listen to the music and join in with the community in a shared moment of celebration. (Details below).

Time & Plaice will be serving their delicious fish and chips at the village hall from 5.00pm

Fish and chips were not rationed during wartime, so the eating of fish and chips is encouraged in recognition of the fishermen, farmers and land girls who kept the country fed.

Live music of the era will be performed by the wonderful Jessica Mary Brett in the village hall during evening. One not to be missed!

The evening will continue on the green at the top of Portland Place from 9.00pm for the lighting of the village beacon at 9.30pm.
